The Minneriya National Park is a great place to reunite with nature. It boasts a wide range of habitats from dry tropical forest to wetlands and grasslands. The major attraction of the park is the herds of elephant that inhabit here. Minneriya forms the part of the elephant corridor that joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa national parks. You can also spot the large number of beasts here. Don’t forget to take a camera with you as you never know when you spot elephants or any other beast.
DESCRIPTION
Located on a ten-minute drive east of Habarana, Minneriya National Park offers an amazing opportunity to have a close encounter with the amazing wildlife of Sri Lanka. The main attraction the Park is the largest Minneriya Tank, created by the famous tank builder and monk-baiter Mahasen. Enjoy a stroll along the evergreen forest dotted with beautiful Satinwood, Rosewood, Halmilla and Weera trees. Your guide will take you to spot where you have the maximum chance of seeing the elephants and other beasts. Best time to see this animal is from July to October when water around the surrounding areas dries up and thousands of these massive creatures come to the tank to quench their thirst, bathe and feed on the green grass. This annual event is popularly known as ‘The Gathering’, the largest meeting of Asian elephants anywhere in the world. Sambar, spotted deer, macaque, purple-faced langur, monkeys, sloth bears, leopards and birds can also be seen here.

Golden triangle was helpful for us to visit three different destinations in three states of India with cultural differences. It was my honeymoon trip & we booked it from Antilog vacations. We enjoyed rickshaw ride in Delhi & visited Chandni Chowk, Red fort, Jama Masjid & Qutub Minar. Taj Mahal visit was a wonderful Honeymoon gift for both of us, we spent half of our day at Taj Mahal. We were surprised by flower decoration & Honeymoon cake with royal treatment at Jaipur.

We organized a family trip for a week; it was a tour of Delhi Agra & Jaipur. This was a leisure trip for the elders but at the same time educational trip for the Children. At Delhi we visited Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, India Gate, Red fort & Akshardham Temple. Then we went to Agra there we visited Agra fort & Taj Mahal. On the way to Jaipur we also visited Fatehpur Sikari. Our last two days of the tour were in Jaipur, there we visited hawa mahal. Pink city, Jal Mahal & Amer fort. This tour was the result of Antilog Vacations tour planning. Thanks to Antilog for such a wonderful trip.
