Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, it is the largest stone observatory in the World. It has fourteen statistical instruments of various geometrical forms and a remarkable collection of the architectural & astronomical instrument.

Description

Visit Jantar Mantar, one of the five astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Counted among the UNESCO World Heritage sites, it features the world's largest stone sundial. See a distinctive collection of masonry, stone and brass instrument designed on the principle of ancient Hindu Sanskrit text and data from Islamic astronomy. These instruments are used for calculating day time, predicting an eclipse, the height of heavenly bodies and the situation of constellations. Jaiprakash Yantra, Samrat Yantra, Ram Yantra and the Composite instrument are the other major highlights of this observatory.
